Longtime friends and collaborators Fernando San Miguel Villagómez and Napoleón Rodriquez team to tell a horrific tale based on their shared heritage
POMPTON PLAINS, N.J. - JerseyDesk -- BayView Entertainment, a leading distributor of elevated horror films, unleashes a new terror upon audiences just in time for Halloween: Nahualli available digitally for sale or rent starting Oct. 28, 2025.
Nahualli follows Alex, who joins his friend Mark's search for his missing sister Nichole in the forests of Arteaga, Coahuila. Nichole is possessed by the ancient spirit of the Nahualli, a witch who enslaves all intruders. Uncovering the truth, Alex is drawn into a night of terror that traps and threatens everyone nearby.
Produced independently through Gatos Pardos Productions, the film took root after actor, writer, and producer Napoleón Rodriquez suffered one of the toughest trials of his life. When his friend, writer-director Fernando San Miguel Villagómez invited him to collaborate, he found renewed purpose telling stories through film.

Not just any film, but one inspired by Mexican mythology. The duo set out creating a masterful exercise in chilling terror, honing the script with co-writer and actor Rynn Reigns, assembling fine acting talent like Laura Aréchiga, Bárbara Arriaga, and Alma Castaneda to perform alongside Rodriguez and Reigns; and shooting the film on RED Komodo X with full sound design, color grading, and VFX.
"I never imagined that a story written by friends would become a real movie. Today I understand that dreams come true when you work with passion and never stop believing,' shares Rodriguez.
The film joins another recent BayView release, Lechuza, in leaning into Mexican folklore and traditions to bring forth what such stories have always delivered, cautionary tales warning that dark things are probably best left unexplored.
"We are thrilled to have Nahualli join our library of distinguished horror titles," says Peter Castro, President of BayView Entertainment. "We also distribute documentaries about the histories and cultures of indigenous peoples, so this holds special appeal to us, that we're sure will be shared by audiences everywhere."
