DENVER - JerseyDesk -- All Colorado Scenthound locations have joined together to launch a new partnership with Humane Colorado, formerly the Dumb Friends League, through the Clean Start program. This initiative offers every dog adopted from Humane Colorado a complimentary Basic Hygiene service, redeemable at any participating Scenthound location across the state.
The Basic Hygiene service includes a bath, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing—essential care that helps support a dog's overall wellness. With each voucher, newly adopted dogs receive a professional health-focused hygiene session to help them transition from shelter life to their forever homes with a clean, confident start.
"We believe every dog deserves to begin their new chapter clean, cared for, and loved," said Christy Boswell, Colorado-based Multi-unit Franchise Partner at Scenthound. "This partnership with Humane Colorado is a natural extension of our mission to keep dogs healthy while supporting the incredible work of those helping animals in need."
The partnership was initiated by local franchise leadership in collaboration with Humane Colorado, with the shared goal of making post-adoption care more accessible and impactful for dogs and their new families across the Front Range.

Enriching the Connection Between People and Their Dogs
At the heart of this collaboration is a shared commitment to animal wellness and the unique bond between pets and their people. For Scenthound, this work is guided by a core belief: "We enrich the connection between people and their dogs." The Clean Start program is a tangible extension of that guiding philosophy by making wellness care accessible, supporting new pet parents, and creating a smoother transition from shelter to home.
Both Scenthound and Humane Colorado recognize that adoption is just the beginning of a lifelong relationship. This program is designed to support that connection from day one, with services that foster comfort, trust, and health.
"We see this as more than just a grooming service. It's a bridge between shelter life and home life," added Hanna Supanich-Winter, Humane Colorado Corporate Partnership Manager. "When a dog feels physically better, they adjust emotionally and socially quicker, too. It's a small gesture that can make a big difference."
