Community Comes Together to Support Local Non-Profit at Sold-Out Gift Auction

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - JerseyDesk -- More than 150 community members gathered at Spring Lake Manor on Saturday, May 17th for CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties' 38th Annual Spring Luncheon and Gift Auction supporting CONTACT's life-saving 24/7 crisis hotline.

For a $70 donation, attendees gained access to a three-course luncheon, gift auction, and Jumbo 50/50 Raffle. The gift auction featured a wide selection of quality gift baskets, gift certificates, door prizes and more.

All proceeds from the sold-out event supported CONTACT's mission: to provide trained telephone listeners who respond to human needs every hour of every day. CONTACT volunteers offer free and confidential crisis intervention, information on available resources and referrals to community services.

"Every dollar raised at the Gift Auction helps keep our 24/7 hotline open to someone who needs support, hope, or just a friendly ear," said Kim Santora, Executive Director of CONTACT of Ocean and Monmouth Counties. "We're so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and made this event a success. The success of the Spring Luncheon & Gift Auction underscores the vital role CONTACT plays in the community."

Looking ahead, CONTACT is preparing for their 12th Annual 5K Race & Race Walk, set to take place on August 20th at Howell High School. This event promises to bring the community together once again to honor the memories of those lost and serve as a reminder of the struggles many face every day.
