PALMYRA, N.J. - JerseyDesk -- Deborah Heart and Lung Center's "Deborah100: The Project" is a testament to the institution's commitment to providing cutting-edge healthcare. A key feature of this ambitious project is a stunning living wall and a vertical garden that adds a touch of nature to the hospital's facade. However, integrating signage into this living masterpiece presented a unique challenge: how to ensure the signs were both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound without compromising the delicate ecosystem of the vertical garden?
Philadelphia Sign, part of the PSCO Sign Group, was selected as the signage partner for this intricate endeavor. The team's challenge was to design and install signage that would complement the living wall's natural beauty and withstand the elements and potential water damage.
To overcome this challenge, Philadelphia Sign's engineering team meticulously studied the living wall's structure, water drainage system, and plant life. They then designed custom mounting brackets that could be securely attached to the wall without interfering with the plants or their water supply. The installation process was a delicate balance of precision and care, requiring specialized techniques to avoid damaging the living wall.

Kevin Hoban, Vice President, Product Design & Development for Philadelphia Sign, adds, "Our installation team meticulously placed each bracket – twenty-two in total, to ensure a precise fit for the signage. During the sign installation, every element aligned perfectly, a testament to their commitment to excellence in the field. Once the sign was in place and secured to the brackets, all that remained was to wire the sign into the building's electrical system. With the sign now in place and illuminating, the "live wall" contractor was able to complete the remaining plant installation, adding the finishing touches to this successful sign project."
The final result is a stunning integration of nature and branding. With its sleek design and vibrant colors, the signage complements the living wall's lush greenery. It serves as a key branding feature for Deborah Heart and Lung Center's new patient tower, guiding patients and visitors to the facility.
