Professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers came together to connect with purpose and celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - JerseyDesk -- The East Orange Chamber of Commerce (EOCC) turned connection into compassion on Thursday, October 23rd, during its Professional Networking Mixer & Fundraiser at Montclair Brewery. The event brought together business owners, civic leaders, and community partners for an evening of meaningful networking and heartfelt giving in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Upon arrival, attendees were each presented with a pink ribbon — a simple but powerful symbol of hope, unity, and remembrance. Throughout the evening — during thoughtful conversations, bursts of laughter, and a few lively fellowship activities — those pink ribbons remained proudly displayed, creating a shared sense of purpose and togetherness.

Against the warm, welcoming backdrop of Montclair Brewery, guests shared stories, exchanged ideas, and strengthened ties — all while raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). A percentage of every purchase made during the event supported NBCF's life-saving programs focused on early detection, education, and patient support.
EOCC President Monique M. Lewis expressed pride in how the evening blended purpose and partnership:
"When local businesses come together for a cause, the ripple effect reaches far beyond one night. It strengthens our community, empowers collaboration, and reminds us of the impact we make when we lead with heart."
The Chamber extends special thanks to Leo Sawadogo and Denise Ford-Sawadogo, the husband-and-wife owners of Montclair Brewery (101 Walnut St., Montclair, NJ), for graciously hosting the event — and to all members, sponsors, and guests who contributed their time, donations, and energy to make the night a success.
