Kean University hosts the official launch of Healing Us, Daniel J. Regan's powerful memoir on addiction, resilience, and recovery, uniting leaders from health, faith, policy, and business in a shared call to action.
ASBURY PARK, N.J. - JerseyDesk -- Asbury Park N.J. — On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Kean University will host the official launch of Healing Us: A Memoir of Addiction, Descent, and Renewal, the deeply introspective and revealing work by Daniel J. Regan, written in collaboration with his mother, Lynn Regan. This personal testimony transcends autobiography to become an urgent collective call to reexamine policies and perceptions surrounding addiction and treatment in the United States.
Throughout its pages, Regan recounts his dramatic descent into abandonment and despair, from a motel in Palm Springs to the creation and leadership of nationally recognized recovery programs. His narrative, clear and unflinching, challenges social and political prejudices that have historically stigmatized those suffering from substance use disorders, proposing instead a perspective grounded in empathy, scientific evidence, and sustained community engagement.
