BRANCHVILLE, N.J., July 1, 2024 ~ Selective Insurance Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGI) has announced the addition of Kate Sampson to their Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2024. Ms. Sampson brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and technology sector to her new role.
Starting her career at Marsh McLennan in 1996, Ms. Sampson quickly rose through the ranks to become head of the San Francisco/San Jose office. She then joined rideshare company Lyft in 2014 as their first vice president of risk solutions, where she developed their insurance programs. From 2019 to 2024, she served as managing director and partner at Anthemis Group, a financial technology asset management firm.
In addition to her impressive professional background, Ms. Sampson has also served on the boards or advisory boards of several technology firms such as Metabiota, Trov, Hedvig, Joshin Inc., REIN, Vouch Insurance, Eigen Technologies, Kyte, and Elevate.inc., all related to Anthemis investments. She is also a member of the Duke University FinTech Advisory Board and holds a degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

John J. Marchioni, Chairman, President & CEO of Selective also expressed his excitement about Ms. Sampson's appointment stating that he looks forward to working with her and believes she will make significant contributions towards achieving Selective's goals.
With Ms. Sampson's appointment, Selective's Board will expand from 12 members to 13 members before expected retirements. This appointment reflects Selective's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and delivering an exceptional customer experience in the insurance industry.
