MORRISTOWN, N.J., June 20, 2024 ~ At the 2024 PuroClean Annual Convention, held in Orlando, Florida, PuroClean of Morristown was named the Franchise of the Year for 2023. This prestigious award is given to one franchise out of nearly 500 locations across North America and recognizes outstanding performance in various categories such as sales growth, market share, revenue, and profitability.
Owned by Nelson and Sujey Rivera, PuroClean of Morristown is part of the leading property restoration and remediation franchise in the country. The couple also co-owns and operates two other PuroClean franchises in Livingston and Bloomfield. Their dedication to helping New Jersey residents recover from disasters has made them stand out among their peers.
Nelson Rivera's background as a decorated firefighter and father of two young daughters has instilled in him a strong sense of community service. He has received multiple awards for his bravery and commitment to serving others, including the City of Orange Chamber of Commerce Valor Award, New Jersey State Firemen's Mutual Benevolent Association Award for Valor, and the American Red Cross Hero Award.

Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean, praised Nelson's dedication to both his role as a franchise owner and his duties as a firefighter. He stated that Nelson exemplifies what it means to be a true "Paramedic of Property Damage" by putting his life on the line for others without expecting anything in return.
Nelson's journey with PuroClean began as a technician before he discovered his passion for the business while working with the owner of PuroClean Livingston. In 2017, he moved to Livingston with Sujey to be closer to their business operations. They opened their first franchise in Morristown before expanding to Bloomfield and then back to Livingston where Nelson first started.
Despite still serving as Deputy Fire Chief in Orange, Nelson manages all five of their franchise locations – four in New Jersey and one in Oregon, which he runs in partnership with two other PuroClean franchise owners. He credits the support of the corporate team and the community for their success.
